Welcome to the Walled Garden, an exclusive hamlet of eleven luxuriously appointed stone-built cottages nestling in the grounds of Tredethy House, an alluring country mansion set in the heart of Cornwall’s tranquil Camel Valley. The house, now a luxury hotel, was owned for several years by Prince Bira of Siam, a famous motor-racing champion of the 1930’s and 40’s and reminders of his achievements and of the glamour of this exciting era are much in evidence.
The Walled Garden is for those who aspire to ‘eco-friendly’ luxury living in their own cottage in a traditionally peaceful Cornish hamlet. Eleven (2, 3 or 4 bedroom) exquisitely designed and constructed cottages create the feel and atmosphere of old-world charm and traditional country values without compromising modern day comfort. Ground source heat pumps tap into the earth’s thermal energy to provide heating and hot water while black granite work tops, Italian tiling and stainless steel kitchen appliances set the scene.
The cottages are designated as holiday homes with 365 days per year permitted occupancy as a second home and with the benefit of a full management and caretaking service. The latter will help maximise rental income should owners decide to let their cottages for holiday use.
Situated within the Camel Estuary area – arguably the South West’s most exclusive coastal playground – the Walled Garden is perfectly placed to benefit from the continuing rise in the UK domestic holiday market. With Newquay airport 30 minutes away, connections to London and beyond couldn’t be better.
